#13 Tesol-teach tips odds & ends

What thoughts did you have about the specific things shown in the videos?
After watching videos, I thought , these were all easy to miss. Things like teacher’s teaching behaviors towards to students for example, movement, soft loud clear voice, how to capture students attention and reinforce lesson while making a personal connection with each students by firm handshakes.

·                     Starting the Lesson with a Bang
·                     Using Guessing Activities
·                     Handshake Q & A
·                     Fishbowl
·                     Dialogue Circles
·                     Voice Projection
·                     Giving Clear Instructions
·                     Teacher Movement and Positioning
·                     Using Gestures and Nonverbal Communication
·                     Staying Focused on Teaching and Not Being Distracted
·                     Dealing with Behavior Issues

What systems of behavior management/discipline do/will you use in your teaching?
It was really valuable time to watch all videos and also it was great ways of teaching that I’d like to use them all in my future teaching class. But three things that I love to use are::
firstly, Sign language! It was so adorable when kindergarten students made eye contact with teacher to conversation and make small signs with using tiny hand. Of course, it’s really practical as well, not just interrupting class or when teacher talking to other, but also ,I think that it could be special class bonding with teacher. I can’t wait to make my own sign language with my little students. Secondly, Behavior action plan, If I work at public school or tutoring with group of students, I am sure that this will help to students’ misbehavior. They actually think over what they have done so then how they can fix themselves about their bad actions. Lastly, using dialogue circle, I agreed with the idea that students want to share their personal story with students, when they speak all over the place, then it will hard to get start the academic lesson, that’s why I liked it. Students can share and listen each others story or thinking with teacher and teacher can find out their thinking and feelings for today. This leads the teaching of that day. This could reduce students’ misunderstanding and resolving conflicts together.

At THE COMPUTER LAB, we looked over presentation tools for teachers.
There was something that I never knew before, and it was really super great tool.

#10 Enjoyed and useful [learningcall.net]

As soon as I checked out the [learingingcall.net site], I had no idea to where I start ,
If I want to look all sites, It must takes couples of days. As I am going to be a English teacher, I mostly interested in grammar, writing, storybooks and methods for teachers.

so these are my top5 (for now) :
  1. http://www.mes-english.com/flashcards/clothes.php  tools for teacher
  2. http://www.englisch-hilfen.de/en/ -vocaburay
  3. http://www.loyalbooks.com/       -ebook with audio
  4. http://www.azargrammar.com/   -grammar
  5. http://englishpage.com/  writing
These sites are found very very useful for me, As full time busy English teacher, It must be hard to prepare or make workout sheets or bingo sheets resource, or if I would think, I do not have good artistic hands, we 100% need this 1. site. AND its pretty as well.
I envy English native people who are really good at reading story book with wonderful voices and pronunciation. I don't know how they are capable with reading. So, I liked the NO.3 website because doesnt need to pay for books and it has audio! I am going to listen and practice reading. fingers cross!
Apart from the learningcall website,
I would recommend the TED TALK https://www.ted.com/ website. For those who are upper intermediate level or adults. It helps in many ways at the same time. Like having diversity of other fields ( background knowledge) or improving listening skills and this website provides scripts and subtitles in many languages. Moreover, this also gives us higher English level and more practical.

#11 shared resources

1.http://www.eslprintables.com/
After I looked over some shared resource sites on our Tesol program blog,
I found this eslprintables's website very useful so, with pleasure, I happily registered
But! I couldn't download any materials UNTIL I earn some points from the site.
In near future, I definitely give some contribution to this website then I would get this
wonderful teaching resources.

2.https://en.islcollective.com/
This website has lots lots of teaching methods, like above, I captured this pic above, I can choose levels, material types or grammar, it leads me to teaching ideas and various
topics which related to what I want to teach to students.

Like the left pic, this is the type of grammar
with story time related. I liked this resource because ,, for the opening, with students, we can start with talking then reminding the story together so they are able to work out the past tense verbs with dragging their interests. I can't wait to use this methods to my future students!

A reflection #9

After watching Sugata Mitra Ted video.

When I read the title of SOLE ,I was curious and wondered what does mean by that.
I had to watched it for 2 times, because it was hard to understand for me, this context
; I never heard before this kinds of education system. Maybe, I am not sure that wethere
I fully understand what Sugata Mitra telling. Mostly, He is saying that Even though children have not
any basic background or knowledge, they can find out the solution by using computers, well, it's not all about the networking but they are workin together and figure out how to use it or operate and they
worked hard to show other similar ages children how it works. So, What Sugata Mitra's research is that if we can make a learning environment, actually children can learn bythemselves, yes, some difficults subjects or learing other language are hard to get achieve but They can do it
Its all matter of time. Still they remarkably understand and learning.
While I was watching the video, one statement caught my eyes and ears.
That is "If children have interest, then education happens."
Since the past and presents, all educations are basically fixed and divied to two groups; one is educationed and the other is non educationed. I think that this happend because of children
can not find any interests on education. As I am going to be a Teacher,, First thing that I very look closer to students and think harder to give my students to be able to study bythemselves and give
interests on any new studies. One other my goal will be,, like Sugata Mitra, still, in our world, many
children can not have any education so I would want to help them out.. This is really unfair to them
They can have better futures and have a dreams.
